If I could give these no stars I would as I think they are completely unusable. They are very good looking neat detectors which led me to buying them for my own alarm in my house. However they were in for three days and three out of the four false alarmed. I eventually managed to speak to their tech support (I had to go through a third party to get their number as it appears on the website they expect you to use email when you need tech advice!!!!!!!) who informed me that as with ALL detectors on the market they should not be looking at windows. I told them that I had been installing alarms for 10 years and my usual brand had no such issues. I was basically told that I was wrong and if I read the instructions, and he repeated, ALL detectors should not look at windows due to sunlight. I tried to explain again that my usual brand didn’t have these problems especially at 4am, when one of them had alarmed. Since I don’t live in the Arctic circle I don’t believe sunlight is an issue at such times. For my own peace of mind I phoned my usual brands tech support who confirmed that they had no problem with facing windows although certain situations with direct sunlight could be an issue, which I was aware of. I now consider these unusable as I make a point of facing my detectors towards windows as they are the obvious point of entry, I have yet to hear of a burglar smashing through a brick wall to gain entry to a property, hence me considering these to be completely and utterly unusable.
